Is the Pitster pro x4 a good bike?

Recommended Posts

i've been wanting something different from my cr125 for a while now, and i found somebody who wants to trade an 07 x4 with a bunch of extras and 200 cash for my bike. his x4 seems to be in MINT condition. what is your opinion?

its an 04 cr125. but he said that he'd throw in his 07 diamondback viperx bmx bike, two sets of plastics, tag bars, and 200 cash.[/quote

You better jump on it because the 04 CR125 was is one of the worse 125s made, It does not carry a very good resale value.

Get the Pitser and find some pitbike buddies to ride with, you will not look back.

If you want to save up and buy a pit bike, definately get the Pitster, best bike, best backing.

No Way! Assuming your bike is in good shape he would definitely get the better end of that deal. I'd say his Pitster and no less than $1000 cash.

I would disagree , the 04 Cr125 has a resale right now of about $2000 that is in like new condition and a trade in value of $1490 that also is in great condition,Pitsters seem to be getting about $1500 for used X4s so with him sweetening the deal you should jump, by this time next year the CR125 will drop another $500 in value.

And how much more will the Pitster drop?

It's hard telling the value of something that to many people have no real value. There is no blue book value of things like pitbikes for a reason...because they are disposable.

However, the CR will have a solid value that you can use to determine what it should be sold for or purchased for.

Just remember. a used Pitster, a used $200 BMX bike, $200 cash, and some random parts is really worth less than the value of the CR. A brand new X4 is only $1895. Brand new the BMX bike is $199. Brand new $200 cash is $200.

So, used even in good shape, the Pitster is probably only about $1400-$1500. The BMX bike is worth about $20. Diamondbacks aren't what they used to be. And $200 is still $200. So the value of these things is about $1600 to $1700 tops.

You have to ask yourself if you think that your current dirtbike is worth only $1700 or if it's worth more. If you think it's worth more, then I would stay away from the trade.

A lot of this could be negated by what you say the extras are. Remember, a LOT of pitbikes come stock with things that look aftermarket or "trick." So these things that look like extras could be just stock things. The second set of plastics could be a Chinese set of plastics which run $20 on Ebay.

In the end, it's all going to depend on what type of riding you are going to do. I wanted a big bike and settled on a pitbike. I love it though. It's fun to ride, and I don't know if I'd have the same fun with a big bike for what I'm using this pitbike for (motard racing and around the house fun). If you love riding the big bike, maybe you should really, seriously, evaluate what you think you're going to have more fun with.

Good points. IF the pister is running next year what will it be worth. Like you said they are disposable. Start saving for the next one if you like them.. cheaper to buy than fix. The CR will be kicking ass 5 - 10 years from now and still have value.

i'm thinkin about buying the gpx 160x on the pitster site. i bet that hauls! haha i love this bike though. its so much fun. the only problem i've had so far is that the fold out part on the kick starter lost the spring to keep it shut. so i have to slide it on to start the bike, then take it off so i dont lose it when i'm riding. no big deal though, i'm gonna buy a kickstarter to some small bike. i think something like a klx110/crf80 kickstarter will fit. i just dont want to wait to have to order it from pitster.
