I have a stock low hours 2001 WR 426. Does the Wirtz or Boysen pump cover negate the need for the BK mod? Is the Wirtz at half the price equal to the Boysen? I'm at sea level for tuning purposes.

Most opinions I've read on AP covers are that they don't make enough of a difference to justify the cost. You can adjust the stock AP quite nicely without the need to go aftermarket, your money is better spent elsewhere.
