That is a very good question. I have been wondering about that quite a bit ever since this thread started. Certainly wouldn't do any good to get rid of Ms. Cline only to elect a Al Gore. I figured since Todd was slightly involved in the thread that he had some knowledge concerning Matt. We on the East Side do not have a say in this election but are watching with interest.

I don't know much about Matt other than his Dad sending me emails.
Other than hearing an occasional case now and then, it is unlikely that a King County Superior Court judge would have any impact on our sport. I think that the intent behind supporting this guy is primarily to mess with Senator Kline.

Of course the King County superior court could just be a stepping stone to a much more important court.

I agree:thumbsup: I am sure his agenda would be supported by her law "interpretation" should it come down to some Superior Court? Usually your spouse has much of the same opinion as your own.

But a Judge must be somebody worthy by himself, not just elected because we don’t like the man that the current Judge is married to. When a judge makes a mistake, a guilty criminal may go free or an innocent person may spend long years in prison. It’s important what Judges do, and I think it’s important that we elect good people.
I checked out Hale's website, and it doesn't have a heck of a lot of information about him. So if Hale's dad really wants to use our help to get his son elected, I guess I'd want more info from him about why his son would make a good judge. Like, how old is Matt? What kind of legal work does he do? If the Trial Lawyers contacted Matt's boss, does that mean that Matt is one of those trial lawyers too? Mostly, I want to know about his legal experience, so I can get people to vote FOR him and not just against the current Judge because she's married to Klein. Thanks.

My son is running for King County Superior court judge against the wife of Adam Kline. Senator Kline is pulling out all of the stops to defeat him and we are working to get off-road and biker support for our campaign. We are having two rallies this weekend (July 26th) and we need to get the word out to everyone we can. Here are the Details:
Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00 at Kent Kawasaki, 821 Central Ave. So. in Kent. Their website is www.kentkaw.com and phone 253-852-8670. The purpose is to meet Matt Hale and pick up signs to distribute throughout King County. They will need a way to carry signs and stakes. Lunch will be served.
Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00, we will be at Bellevue Kawasaki, 14004 NE 20th in Bellevue. Their website is wwwbellevuekawasakiwa.com and phone is 425-641-5040. The purpose is the same and lunch will also be served. If supporters can help us wave signs at those locations, their help will be greatly appreciated, and we hope they express their thanks for these dealers who have stepped forward to fight for off-road and biker righrts.
Voting begins on August 1st and ends on August 19th, so this call to action is urgent. If Kline wins he will solidify his base to county-wide, but if we can defeat his wife, there will be a new look at the politics of going after off-road and outdoor sports. Their weakness is that this is a county-wide race where they have no name recognition and we intend to have Matt Hale's name everywhere.
Please get the word out to as many bikers and off-roaders as you possibly can.
We are indebted to you.
John Hale

I feel your desire to know something about the positions of who you vote for is commendable. If Washingtonians had been more concerned about the moral convictions of those whom they elect we would not have the dissatisfaction, distrust and apathy that now exist in regards to our court system. The fact is that the election of liberal judges leads to liberal penalties that in no way are justice to the victims of crime.
So let's suggest that all we know about Matt is that he is not a liberal as are Kline and his wife (Laura Gene Middaugh). That alone would lead many to conclude that he would be more likely to legislate justice in our courts. Rather than modernist psychological explanations in mental gymnastics designed to make the victims feel guilty for wanting justice.
By the way, has Laura Gene Middaugh made any effort in letting people know what her convictions are? In her case a person could look into her past record on the bench.
It seems to me that people running for office want as little as possible known about their true beliefs for fear someone will use it against them. So what we get is candy coated declarations which generally say nothing. Kinda like the hotdog skin without the hotdog.

If so, then she could also share this annoyance or anger. Let's face it, judges are humans and they are subject emotions too. So it's not too big of a stretch to say she might share his views. If she's a good judge, then she knows how to apply the law and not let her personal emotions play in to it, but I don't have that much faith in that.
