I recently pruchased a 01 DR 650 SE, and I have a few questions.
When I turn the engine off after a ride, the compression "kicks back"
against the starter motor. It sounds like I hit the starter button by
mistake just for a split second. Is this normal?
The owner's manual says to run 22psi front and 25psi rear tire
pressures. What do you guys run?

On tire pressure I run the 25 & 22 psi for the street. In the dirt I drop the rear down to twenty.
I don't go any lower than twenty for fear of a pinch flat because our model bike doesn't have rim locks.
As far as the "kick back" I wouldn't venture a guess. Sorry.
Incidentally I'm running Dunlops D606 Knobs. The front is the stock 90-90/21, while I up'ed the rear to a 130-90/17. Plenty of room for the wider tire.
(The wider tire besides hooking up alot better, looks pretty mean too!
