info on electrics please

my yz450 is just backfiring, but all i want to no is next to the coil(black box under the tank) is a white wire that bolts onto the frame right next to the coil on the right hand side of the bike , well it looks like it is cut, its only an inch long.. where does it go and what is it. im not very good with mechanical stuff. so please please :thumbsup:

i forgot to add its a 04 model

There are no white ground wires in the stock harness. The only white wire your bike came with originally is one of the two that loop from the trigger coil to the CDI. That one does not ground, and it wouldn't run with it cut.
