I'm rebuilding the rear M/C and brake caliper on the 00 426 YZF. It was locking up after riding for a while. Everything is apart and I'm ready to start reassembling with the new parts.

It's going back together with new EBC red (x) brake pads. The EBC package says "do not fit original shim and insulator". Is that correct? So the backside of the pads contact the caliper body and piston directly with nothing in between?

That is correct. The EBC pad is a little thicker than the OEM and they don't need the OEM spacer. Be sure to keep your spacer just in case you try a different pad next time that requires the shim.

Cool, thanks! It seemed a little odd so I wanted to ask first.
