Went out this weekend and practiced for a couple hours on my 03 450f. Noticed that my front wheel was loose when braking hard. So checked the bike out and looks like the front rotor is flexing real bad. Is this normal for a 03. And if so I don't like it. Can I replace it with a solid rotor. Thanks

The front rotor is a floating type, in which the braking surface of the rotor "floats" on the rotor center on a set of rivets. This allows the rotor to expand with heat without tending to become bound, and therefore warp. You will find that most front brake rotors are like this.

It is normal for the rotor to exhibit a slight looseness when cold, but it should tighten up as it heats up with use. If it doesn't, or if it rattles excessively on the center, then you may need to replace it.

Check your WHEEL BEARINGS! I just had to replace mine on my new 08.

Had the rivets loosen up quite a bit on my 04', just spinning the front wheel while on the stand you could here it rattle bad... Sold the bike with an $80 discount so new owner could get a rotor
