i've seen a few people drilling holes around, 1/8th inch in diameter at equal distances up down and sideways across the white covers on the front of the radiators.

im just wondering is it worth sacraficing that protection in order to gain better air flow on my 07 450?

I've been riding for 31 years. Never had to do that. I don't think it's worth it.

Maybe they do it for aesthetics I cant imagine it would make much difference since those fins channel air into the radiator anyways.

I wouldnt do it prolly just for looks... no need for more air flow
