HI,
I have been doind lots of research for aftermarket parts and replacement parts (as I'm sure alot of you have)
Anyway I was thinking we should try to make this thread a list of all the crossover or interchangable parts that you can use from other bikes. I'd assume the most popular parts would be shared with the DRZ400E/S DR650SE and the older DR250/350.
I'LL ADD EVERYONE'S SUGGESTIONS TO THIS TOP POST WHEN THEY COME IN
I'll start the list:
1 I've been found foot pegs are the same as DR650SE. So that means you can buy any aftermarket pegs, like Pivot pegs that are listed for the DR650SE.
2 Oil filters are the same as DRZ400
3 Rear Sprockets same as DRZ400
4 Rear wheel DRZ400 (needs250 spacers tho)

I am pretty sure that the rear wheel is the same as a 400. They use the same sprockets

yeah i can attest to this. My DRZ 400 has my DRZ 250 rim on it and the 250 has the 400's. I had a trackmaster on the 250 and wnated to put it on the 400 after i bought that. Easy swap -spacers are slightly different size though.

anybody thought of bolt on parts from the LTZ 250 quad? I would think that mufflers, carb upgrades, those sorts of things might be compatible.

FWIK the suzuki 250 quads use a completely different engine. Just chacked pats diagrams of an 04 ltz250 and they are 2 valve head and different bore x stroke.

wow -you would think that Suzuki would have wanted to reuse the engine in as many products as possible. How bout the DR 250 and 350's?

The frame looks similar to those used on the RMZ from the 90s... what about that possibility?

I think the DR250 and DR350 might have some possibilities by looking at photos, but I have never seen them in person.

talking about the DR250/350...
I was wondering if the after market gas tanks available for those would work fit a DR-Z250.

For some reason TT wont let me edit my first post today. But i thought i better add a PERFORMANCE mod that i have just completed.
Replace carb with thew Mikuni TM33P. This carb was stock on the "performance" model DR350 apparently, but you can source one NEW for under $300. You do need to swap a few bits from your old carb for the throttle pull. but not that hard.

Doesn't Kawasaki and Suzuki share the same platform for some of the dirt bikes? I thought the drz is the same as the klx, not sure.

Unfortunatly not the 250. kawasaki and suzuki 'share' the 400 and the 110 I think.

Does anybody know if a different shift lever is possible on the DRZ 250? Will one off a 400 give you some more room to get a larger foot under? I find shifting my 250 to be challenging with a larger foot. Does anybody else have this problem?

I tried moving my shift lever up one notch to make more room, but then I couldn't get into the upper gears

the more I look at the DR250/350 the more I think the aftermarket gas tanks would fit...see pics

Clark makes a 4.2gal for both the Dr250 and DR350
IMS makes a 3+gal for the Dr250/DR350 also

I agree the tanks look very much the same in photos, but I have not seen the two bikes side by side in person.
