Are there any mods out there to add electric start to the 02 426's? I'm really getting tired of not getting off the start line with everybody else and spending the whole race fighting for passes.

Several years ago there used to be an aftermarket setup but it was kind of a kludge, heavy and very expensive (like over $1000). I don't think many were sold and it's long since disappeared. Haven't seen any other solutions since. At that price you'd be better off selling the 426 and buying a used 450.

Haven't done that yet...have to look into it. Is that pretty difficult to do?

And PBDBLUE, yeah at that price it wouldn't be worth it at all. Wish I could afford a newer bike!

The auto decomp exhaust is the best thing that you can do. It is amazing how easy it is to kick the bike over. The process is not difficult if you follow the directions. The instructions are on this site somewhere. The cam will cost you about $100 and it is worth $1000.
