Eddie is correct.

I'm the one who contacted him and stated that this will never fit.  However, I mounted the battery panel per Eddie's procedure and it went on.  It was a bit of a pain, but it went on.  Once installed, I applied some heat from my heat gun to allow the plastic to relax into its new configuration.  The panel now goes on and off much easier.

Thanks again.

Jeff

You need to put this under the "electrical" section of the "popular parts/accessories for the drz" sticky so I'll be able to find it when my battery dies.

i appreciate everyones understanding and patience.

i had some shipping delays.some due to battery box supply and some do to shippers issues with the battery.

most have shipped right thru, but a few have been "held due to suspicious content" or while they determine if its haz mat.

i also has a question about my manufacturing process and tolerance.these are hand made, but i use a jig to insure repeatability.

i also check them against the prototype before they leave.

thanks again to all.this has gone to a place i didnt imagine with sales of the kits.

sounds like it's a good problem to have.i kind of figured that would happen so i haven't been bugging you.i understand things like that.i wish you much success.we owe you huge for all the tricks you've shown us.

i'll just keep cursing:rant:  at my stock bat'ry and hope i don't have to jump it or compression start the bike before the kit arrives.:smirk:JK

I got my bracket and box within a week.  Fit was perfect.  It is very simple to install.

Sorry, a bit of a rant to the people mumbling about the fit.  Eddie is or is having someone make these up by hand.  He is not using Solidworks and a CNC press brake to make them.  All of are bikes are not identical, some have oem plastics some aftermarket.  So you have to trim a little plastic or you number plate bulges a little more, big deal.  He did us service by coming up with this idea and now he is selling the kit inexpensively to you.    So simmer down.

[quote name='Eddie Sisneros']you need to open the hole in the battery cable ends to 6mm.

does the battery come with the 6mm screws?  Do we need to supply these?

yeah, the battery comes with nuts and screws(6mm)for the terminals in a little cellophane bag taped to it.the kit has all the hardware unless you request individual components.

I would like to say this is a great idea ....except ..I bought a bike that had the back of the battery box cut out and the bottom modified already ... that and a oversized battery<<<<<----albeit almost dead ...after  looking everywhere for a battery i realized no one was gonna give one way for free..It was gonna cost me 75 bucks on average ......Wanting to ride my newly aquired bike i slipped into the battery section of your lovely walmart and looked at there lawnmower/ yard garbage batteries and spotted a 26 dollar battery  that was the right size >>>considering my battery box was already tortured and modified //////////////////
Long story short I'm 2 years in and happy to have a guarentee and a simple return policy from trashmart where the educated /discerning DRZ rider shops ..Sorry no specs on the batt..I  think it was more than the 85 cca... at 2 years and counting a totally happy camper
