Any updates on the smaller battery box for lithium batteries (like the Shorai LFX14A2-BS12) ?

Is there a how to for the battery box and building a new strap? I'm gonna try to get a battery and do it myself.

Cycle gear has the YT10s for $109 with a 6 month warranty. Or the same battery with a Lifetime warranty for $150.
I'm just gonna grab the Lifetime warranty and be done with this battery crap. If anyone has modded the battery box for one of these, chime in on how you did it.

I just installed Eddie's Super Start mod and feel it was money VERY well spent !! You would need to know the DRZ well to even realize it is a mod (it looks factory) and the battery is "snug as a bug".....   :ride: :banghead: [out of three]

Running into fitment issues. I read Eddie's bit about getting the seemingly impossible to fit side cover back on however, it's not yielding much luck for me.

I trimmed a bunch of the small plastic molded ridge on the side panel but didn't sand it smooth. However the gap between the side cover and the lower mounting bolt is several inches.

Just ordered a kit myself. Parked mine after a 112 mile ride. Got up the next morning to change the oil. Tried to crank it over and nothing,,,

Don't forget to check the charging system after you get the new battery. Good time to order/do the "Free Power Mod" as well.

Also, what's the best way to enlarge the holes to 6mm in the ground and positive leads? A drill bit? As a workaround I'm using the block and screw from the stock battery for the time being.

Sharp drill bit, hold the terminal well, and use a block of wood behind. The terminal is thin, and the drill will bit quickly and twist it into a knot of junk if you’re not careful.

Small carbide burr on an air motor works REALLLLLY well also with no chance of bite and twist.

Eddie- are you still charging the batteries yourself before shipping them out? Thanks.

Iv been running Eddies SS kit and harness for over a year and could really tell a big difference in cranking power.  But I need to add that my teraflex fits the swing arm, but rubs on the bracket at full rear compression.  Didnt rip anything up or slow me..  But the bracket does extend into the wheel area..  on my bike at least.

it woudl rub the back of the battery box as well even on the stock set up.

i now offer the kit with a lithium battery option. it is a direct fit using the current bracket. no foam or shimming or any other nonsense.

5.5lbs lighter than stock battery. 6.5lbs lighter than the normal super start kit set up.

same price as the yuasa set up. uses the shorai battery with 210 cca.

we have fully tested the set up over a period of time with excellent results.

ls this the right code for the Shorai?

LFX14A2-BS12

That's the one we have in all our drz's, but it sounds like Eddie might have something custom from Shorai that uses a larger case. I was really hoping he was going to release a smaller battery box to go with the stock Shorai so the whole thing would be a smaller package.
