tired of dealing with the marginal stock DRZ battery? :ride:

i have a kit available that upgrades the stock 7ah battery to a full size 10ah battery.

fits in the stock location.

this kit adds only 1lb to the bike.

pictures to follow shortly.

EDIT- stock CCA is 85.this battery is 190 CCA!!

pm me for all pricing.i dont want to clutter up the forum with that.

technical questions are fine in this thread.

i will sell it as a entire kit or any of the individual pieaces.

the bracket, the modded stock battery box (wont look like a beaver at it for breafast) and the battery.

this kit uses a yt10s battery.they are sealed units.no fill and pray for full absorbtion.they are about the same price as the stock drz battery, but way more resiliant.

the unit in the picture is a proto type, but you get the idea.

the bracket itself will be $49.95 shipped in the US.

brand new modded battery boxes and batteries will be available as well.

you can pretty easily modify your stock battery box and source a battery locally.i will sell the entire kit for ease though.

as usual i highly reccomend genuine yuasa batteries.cheapy versions do exist but its always a gamble.

the battery boxes sell for retail, the modification is free.if you send the box,i will mod it for $10.

LOL, I just installed a new battery too. Will be interested to see the final design and a 'production unit'. Will you be selling the kit sans battery for those that want to have kit on hand?

I assume it is merely different clamp strap, right? Perhaps a little cutting of the number plate?

I would definitely prefer to buy one all ready made that spend the time to do it myself.

with out giving away my entire design.its a bracket that fits the battery and then bolts down in place of the stock hold down.many of you are capable of making this, but you know how time consuming it can be.

no cutting of the plastic.

getting rid of the stock hold down gains nearly a half inch.

i should also point out that a stock drz genuine yuasa battery is 85 cca.the ytz10 is 190 CCA !!!!.

i will sell the set up any way that is wanted.

PM sent!

LOL, I only fab myself when no one else is making a part. Not worth the effort to make a 'one off' when a part is readily available.

Be sure to include a note when you ship identifying the exact battery model for the files.

OOh I like it.  I just opened my Yuasa book and guess what - I had that same replacement battery circled but never figured out how to deal with the increased depth of the bigger battery.  Definitely will go this way when I need a battery, probably not long.

Nice. I've been using the Westco sealed battery but this design more than doubles the CCA.
