Hi guys,

I've recently bought a 2002 yz426f and the exhaust protector is pretty much bang up. I'm planning to clean off the black paint it has on and straighten it.
The problem is I don't know if originally it is painted or not, what is it made off, maybe it's made from stainless steel, then I just polish it and it won't rust and looks great

Thx

If you mean the heat shield the bolts onto the header, it was stainless, and unpainted when the bike was new.

yep that's what I'm talking about, the heat shield. Too bad I didn't wait for the answer long enough and painted it today morning with heat resistant black paint  :ride:
