Here's a couple pics of my '93 650l. They were taken today on my cellpone, after I kinda got stuck in the mud. On the plus side, I didnt need the kickstand:p . It took me about 20 minutes to get the bike out by myself, due to the intense suction the mud had on the tires. It was about thigh deep when I stepped off the bike and it was all I could do to get my feet/legs out of it. It was really funny though when I acutally got my bike out of the bog, it looked like the Swamp Thing, all covered in mud/muck/grass/moss. The most funny part is, when my buddy (riding his Yamaha XT225) came back finally to see why I was no longer behind him, arriving immediately after I was unstuck said, "Dude, why are you so muddy?":bonk:

Is that near the Olympia or Elma area? I recall being stuck in a hole just like that not long ago on a pipe line.

That looks like some sticky mud! I'm surprised to see there wasn't a set of boots sticking out of the mud a couple steps from the bike. Good job on getting the bike out of it.

Is that the worst possible line you could have taken thru that pit?!...I hate mud, and usually avoid it like the Plague...(because I've been stuck in holes like that one as well).

HAHA, yup. My friend on his XT225 went around it. It was the second time we had gone through this area, having gotten lost the first time. I had been just plowing through all the mud pits all day, but this one was a different kind of mud. Less water/sand/dirt/rocks and more gooey sludge. Kind of a surprise. Almost the entire trail is just a muddy water channel.

Nope, its up here in Sequim on a branch of the powerlines.

Were you able to get it out by yourself?

Ya, I got it out. I was able to get the front tire up and over onto some more stable ground, kinda sideways in the trail. Then, I sat back on it, fired it up, and prayed I could power out of it. Luckily I was able to plant my feet on the ground (barely) and push all my weight forward into the bars and in 1st gear, full throttle I was magically able to get SOME forward traction. It wasnt easy and its the worst pickle I've been in.

From now on, in my tail box theres gonna be a tow rope.?

It was fun though... My muscles are sore and my bike is dirty, just means it was a good ride. Maybe I'll go back and try to conquer it...

Thought I recognized Puget Sound forest/Fog. Wasn't paying attention to who posted. Looks like a good ride!

Awesome.? That is the kind of riding I enjoy the best. I try to go every weekend with my daughter on her TW200 and her husband on his DRZ400SM (with Maxxis dirt tires) and we seek out the muddiest places we can find. It's not all that difficult to find since we live on the edge of swamp land down here in good ole GA. Was stationed up at the Bangor Sub base during the later half of the 80's and loved riding there too (helluva lot more scenic up your way), lotta green mountain and belfair memories come to mind. Keep on muddin!

Teraflex good in the slimey muck? I'm running Kenda 760's right now and while I have great traction on most serfaces, the tire just craps out when the going gets slick. This time of year, all we have here in western WA is slick muck.

In mud and sand, there is no DOT tire that is even CLOSE to the traction of a teraflex.

It is an ill-mannered brute of a tire, though, its heavy and doesn't give much feedback. In many conditions, it might actually slow you down a little.

75% of the time a 130 or 140 series MT21 is as good or better, but if you're the type to explore the muck while alone, or if you want to blast up sand hills, the terrorflex may be for you.
