The Mods Worked!

Recommended Posts

First, I want to say thanks to the people on this forum for the assistance you provided to me directly, as well for the input you guys always seem to be up for with regard to other posters.

I did the Dave's mods, with a Keihin 55/158 set of jets, shimmed the needle and drilled the slide, and ground off the tab on the mixture screw.

I also did the desmog.

Still running the stock air cleaner and exhaust, and didn't touch the airbox.

All the same, the difference in how my bike runs is very noticeable. No more popping on decel, even when done abruptly from highway speed. Acceleration is smoother with a seamless transition from low speed to high revs. The engine even sounds healthier, especially at idle.

I love the way it runs now, it suits me just fine. ?

Thanks again!!

Take the snorkel off the airbox it's a free mod and it's restrictive.

did some of the same stuff today, ie...de-smog, new exhaust. i haven't done the carb mods yet but i'll get there.

i tore around imperial beach and luved the throaty response in the corners. i hit the corner at the local home depot in a little down shift slide and punched it and continued the burn till i got to the stop sign about 10 yards from the corner. i can't wait for the carb work.

as far as the snorkel goes, i'll get that done tomorrow morning and i'm also wanting to open the side panels.

i also say ty 2 all the peeps that have helped out w/advice and opinions.
