XR's Only header/muffler seal?!

Greetings! It's tuneup time in Michigan, so I figured I'd go ahead and install a fresh header-to-muffler seal in my 650R. When I spoke to XR's Only about it, they indicated that I should use the stock white metal gasket. Seems too small for the OD of the header pipe- what gives?

Anyone have any ideas on a free-lance solution if I can't get the part I have to work?

I've got a ProCircuit header I'm mating to the stock 650R muffler and I'm facing the same sorts of issues.

I've ordered some of the Moose exhaust sealing tape which I hope will fit the bill. http://shop.thumpert...fault.asp?p=521

Plan B involves a big rubber mallet.
