Cheap Tires???

Anyone running them??? It seems these days even the good ones dont last anymore and I'm tired of paying 60-70 locally.... What is a cheap brand that people are having good sucess with? If I'm only going to get a few rides out of a tire. It mike as well be a dirt shark or something of that sort....:prof::bonk:

60-70 bucks isn't bad for a tire. The D952 Dunlop may be the best bang for the buck right now. I've seen the Dirt Shark's in the catalogs before, but I'm a little hesitant to use such a cheap tire. I mean, if I'm going thru the trouble of replacing one, I might as well use a tire that I know will work.

Try a set. A rear, at least. I think you'll like it.

I haven't used and chin shin's or dirt sharks...but I might try. I think i can prob get one installed for 35. And if they dont last long...who cares. The 952's arent lasting very long around here anyways. I'm in the mid west and we have alot of hard pack that destroys tires.

Hard pack will destroy any tire. I ride a lot of hard pack myself and have found the 952 to still last longer then any other tire I have tried. Its spring so prepped tracks are a plenty and thats nice, but weekdays it is still hard pack. 35 for an install is way to much. I dont know about your location, but shops around here will sell you the tire half off id you pay 25 a tire to have it installed, or one sells them at cost, but charges 35 to install a tire. I found a small garage that changes tires for 10 bucks if you take the wheels off the bike. Makes it cheaper to order tires on line and take them there for install

I ran a few Dirt Sharks on my y250f. It was mostly on a very well prepped track. They seemed to work fine. But, the traction at this track was so good, anything would be fine. They are a pretty soft compound but seemed to last pretty good on the 250 on the well prepped track. One thing I didn't like about them is they were always mis-shaped before mounting them. Once they were mounted up, they looked fine. I haven't tried them on the 450 because I got in on a good sale on 756s and bought several of them. My philosophy when trying the Sharks was it was better to run new cheap tires than worn expensive ones.

$10 is pretty cheap, but, unless its conveniently close, I'd probably still change them myself. If you're experienced, it only takes about 10 minutes once you've taken it off the bike and its a handy skill to have if you flat in BFE.

$50. They will ship, but there's oversize shipping and California Tire Recycling fees tacked on when they get shipped, so it would negate the savings, I'm afraid.

I got my last one for $68, so I guess I probably won't save much. Shipping a tire is probably $15 or so.

I guess I could get a couple if we come to Cali to ride....LOL. I have a good friend who is a tech at Huntington Beach Honda, he said I could probably fly out and use a couple of the 'trade in' bikes for a few days. Still trying to talk the wife into it....

Are you anywhere close to Huntington Beach Grayracer?

Maxxis IT's, They last really good for the price.
