ill sell you my 07 wr for 15k. lol Im in the wrong buisness if people actually think they can sell a wr for 17k. thats 10k for shipping alone. You can ship a car for less than that. another thing you might think about is part availability. if they want 17k for the bike, how much do they want for parts? have you tried looking further away, maby india or more north. I dont know sri lanka to much, just what my buddy tells me(he was born there, but excaped to the good old usa.) but, living so close to china, you could buy 3 or 4 china bikes for the price of a wr. Dont get me wrong, Wr is an awesome bike. but I wouldnt spend that much on one. Id break a china bike and say" fck it i got 3 more" How much did they want for the dr?

Its not a original SM model its just a Drz400 with Supermoto Tires and Wheels and a Supermoto Front Fender... I still wish I could get the WR!!!!! And also I hate yellow as a colour lol...

I'm getting tired of the wr blue too . I'm thinking maybe black next. I got sick of the color of every bike I've ever owned . Can you get the dirt setup there for the dr ?

strych, they wanted $5000 for this Drz, I may not be buying it though.. It just doesnt look good enough! Still looking for a WR! And plane is the only way to leave Sri Lanka..Chinese bikes just dont cut it lol..I dont know why the heck they are quoting so much for the WR!

I'm thinking maybe I can come to California and buy a WR and send myself a bike the Frostbike method...

hey Tweav thanks alot for following up my thread so much man!!! The real reason I like the Wr so much is by seeing your WR!! Its soo cool! Dont change the colour man.. I would NEVER EVER get fed up of the Blue!! And yeah the guy said he'll give me dirt wheels and tires but I kind of ditched the idea of buying a DRZ!

Can some one of you get me some information like how much it would cost to ship 1 40LB box from California to Sri Lanka And how much A 2008 WR450F is? Please ?

Oh forgot to say savagekilla ...... i put rear pegs on mine 2 years ago so i could take my kids for rides, i way about 190lbs + kids = no problems as yet. Dont go doing jumps and stuff though it may hurt it, i only take my kids girls round the feilds and they love it, its like a free fair ground ride to them!!!:bonk:

Have a look at my pics in my garage to see the pegs, i bought aprilla 50cc rear pegs off ebay and drilled and tapped holes in the subframe no problems so far.:prof:

Owned a DRZ400 although it was the E (Enduro) model. Much better all round than the the standard S - road biased version. Sold it and bought my WRF450. No contest. Loved the DRZ but just a little big and heavy generally speaking. Although it was easier to ride in the wetter and trickier conditions. It was more mellow than the Yam. But I wouldn't go back. Did all the free mods. as listed on here and re jetted. Still have a little work to do in this area but she does run well if not a little rich at the moment. Better that way than too lean. forgot to mention that mine is an 04 model, not the alley framed version.

Over here in the UK a second hand bike like mine would go for around £3'000.

Found this ad for from a dealer:

Yamaha WR450F Price: £4,499.00 Year: 2007 Warranty: 24 months. Thats $8'913.41 dollars or 356'032.87 Rupees. I hope I have used the correct currency here.

I can't see why you couldn't get one shipped out yourself. It has to be a cheaper option even when you have paid import duty and shipping fees. I'm sure you could get a quote from a shipping company if you were to give them the approx weight and tell them it would come in a crate aprox. 2m square. Import duty may be less dependant on how much you declare the bike is worth. Just a thought.

Keep us posted. Would like to know how you get on.

Hey tweav, thanks alot for the link man! It sparked my interest alot! On the thumpertalk classifields there was a 2005 Honda CRF450X which I also like and it has less than 15 Hours on it.. And he's asking for $4,500... Still gotta convince my dad so that he'll allow me to go alone.. Food and accomadation would be free in California for me as i'm going to stay with my dads best friend (he's basically like a part of the family).. We'll see.. I'll definitely keep you guys posted...The only 2 Bikes I will buy now are either the CRF or WR!

I'll get back to you guys after talking to dad..

my wr's color scheme . the blue is growing a bit old to me

Yes, great idea would love to see mine in the 1980's UK YZ250 colours (Red frame white plastics) that was my favourite, think getting a tank in white could be a prob.....show us pics when your done!!!

White tank a problem? Get an IMS tank they come in white i'm not wrong..

the ims tanks don't come in white they come in nataral / clear . it's sort of white until you put gas in it . the problem with them is they turn yellow over time . I got a black one on mine because it will hold up longer because it has UV protection.

Hey, guys today I decided i'm buying a 2006 Honda XR250 that they have here..My dad is right now on the way to give them an advance and then tommorow we'r picking the bike.. I wouldv prefered if this was a XR400 but I guess this should do for now. Its got a MORIWAKI Exhaust, Renthal Bars and its quite modified.. Looks really good! I'll get pics specially for you guys if and most probably if I get the bike tommorow.. The WR will have to wait for about 1 or 2 years, then they'll probably have a EFI version.. Hopefully one day I'll have a WR... I'll still be sticking around this forum as I love it here lol...

More updates tommorow..
