Anyone on here have lights on their 03 CR250? I would like to add lights, not high wattage just basic 60 watts or so. Any recommendations on inexpensive lighting coils would be appreciated. I looked at moose racing but their chart seems to stop at 2001 CR.

I Have a Baja kit on my 03 250, its a decent set up, you could probably find a better or even a cheaper set up but this was an easy plug and ride unit.

Sorry...the only reason the bike is clean is because I just bought it off some one who built it for trail riding and never used it, that's why I took some pics before I get it in the trails, it's clean no more!!
The trails here are extremely hard on equipment.

Hey Moto9, that bike is sweet! Any idea what kind of lighting coil that thing has? Would love to set mine up that way.

I think it's either a moose or an electosports stator...which if I remember correctly are one in the same...check parts unlimited, tucker rockey or electrosports website.

Can you provide a little more detail?
Such as 1) What wattage bulb are you running, 35w or 55w halogen? 2) How much does the light dim at idle? 3) How effective is the light output? Is the general output just enough to limp you back to camp in the dark or is it half way decent enough to ride at night under moderate speeds?

The ElectroSport CR250R stator for the 02-07 is only good for 50 watts.  That really limits the bulb choices.  A headlight that uses a H3 or H4 bulbs will be required.  There is a halogen H3 bulb in 35 watts and a H4 in 45 watts available.  Those will give the best light.  A 55 watt bulb it too much for that stator.  There just isn't enough juice available.

For max light a DC regulator and a decent battery would allow for a HID setup.  That would give enough light for real night riding.  A 35 or 45 watt halogen is really only good for limp home to camp mode.

Heeyyy cleanard! What are you doing over hear? I myself have a 2002 CR250 as well as my 650R.
Yeah I was wondering about this. I know the lighting coils are rated for around 60w but that they are really not putting that much out unless revved up pretty good. I wanted to hear what his experience was with whatever bulb he has using.
High output LED lightbars are out now but are REALLY pricey. It will be cool when high output LED lights are finally produced by more companies and hence more competitively priced. It will be nice to see someone come out with retrofit high output LED lights that would fit standard lamps like the Baja Designs dual sport cowl, if possible and Soltek type Baja lamps for low wattage draw with big output. It would definitely help on bikes with  stator/coil output limits. Maybe this is just a dream but you never know.

I havent found anyone that produces a lighting stator for the 03 CR250.
BAJA DESIGNS now makes a likt called the Squadron, which is a (6) light LED that puts out 3600 lumens. It uses 44 watts. Contact them for additional info.
THIS may be the ticket if we can find a stator.

I made my electrical system it produces about 70 watts of DC power. Any Honda stator you get after market will make about 40 watts maybe 45 with a fresh battery. The key to the electrical system is the flywheel. A flywheel can make any where from 20 to 40 watts difference. I have a 2001 CR250 its motor has not changed since 1997. The 2002, 2003 i am not a 100% familiar with if you can post a picture of the flywheel installed in your motor with the sidecase off i can compare it to mine... I made mine with a 9 ounce heavier flywheel than stock for more torque and traction in the woods... I dont know if the 2003 motor is sleaker and more compact... pictures would be nice... would like to post a picture of the flywheel stator combo, but i'm having trouble... can any body give me some pointers?

I made a my 70 watt electrical system for a friend, but with harrasment from friends...... His race bike needed to go back to stock... He already had a woods bike.. he didn't need 2.. the only thing is my flywheel is 9 ounces above stock, the sidecase in the 03 is sleaker and i could only get it to 17- 18 ounces.. 2-4 ounces above stock... here is the picture of mine....
