Has anyone ever heard of getting the acerbis 5.8 gallon tank in black? i can only find it in white, and my bike is completely black. it would look weird.....If no black is available, then what paints could i use? if no paints are good to use on plastic gas tanks, then what else can be done to get the tank to be black? Staining or dying the plastic tank??? Graphics?? Give me some advice if you have struggled with this before.

That sounds like a workable solution. The biggest trick would be making the connections inside the tank. It would probably work better with a dry-break style tank that has a larger opening to stick your hand through.

Why not remove the petcock and make the fittings, then insert it back in?

There was just a really good thread on dying plastics/ tanks. It was very easy and worked well. Basically take a very clean tank let it soak in hot water, then allow it to sit in hot water and dye mix. His end product was nice. I just watched a "How is it made" on platics and dying. They do the same process. Get the plastic hot to expand molecules then add dye. When it cools it traps the color.

I think I may use that one to actually dye all plastics blue on my L like my avatar.
