NGK CR8EK or CR9EK for 426?

lets not get involved in standard or irridium plug for this just wondering if you guys are running the 8 or the 9 (the 9 is colder isn't it)?

The manual calls for an NGK CR8E which works fine. Yes a 9 would be colder and a 7 would be hotter.

either would be fine, start with the 8EK

8's are the right heat range. You will foul 9's regularly.

And before it comes up, a colder plug WILL NOT make the engine run cooler.

This is true. And the stock 8 heat range is fine. And please don't waste your money on iridium plugs....for anything you own. Spark is identical, just a little longer electrode life.

I switched to the CR8EIX and agree there isn't a noticeable performance increase, but they do last longer. A standard CR8E costs $4 and the iridium CR8EIX costs $7. I wouldn't really call that a waste of money. People have wasted far more money on there bikes buying bling.
