I'm just not sure, for 275 pounds there should be a 450 in the chassis if you ask me. I would not want to lug 275 dry weight in the woods with only 250 power thats for sure.

most riders say it feels less than 275 and pulls more than 250.

I guess it all depends on what you want, what you want it to do.  I am not going to be racing, just out to buy another bike that I can ride on the road as well as take out to the trails and ride also if I want.

I don't want to spend more than the price of the WR-R and I don't want used.  I also don't want to have to spend the time and pain making a reg dirt bike street legal, besides if it is a pure dirt bike its gonna run like crap on the street anyway.  I have yet to see one that was made street legal that did'nt look like an after thought.

I want fuel injected.  So you tell me, what bike is out there under $6k that is off the show room floor dual purpose and meets my criteria?  I have a deposit on the WR250R and am waiting anxiously.

Put a 450 in, drop the weight to 240 dry and then I will start to get excited.

Oh, they'll put a 450 in it... in 3 years.  It'll never weigh 240 - even the WRF can't do that.

Exactly that why I would never buy a yammi 4t again! Weight of the bike is not enough of a priority for them.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

There are quite a lot of posts on here that are giving this 300lb under-motored thing quite a bit of hype becuase they think the pictures look cool. One dude on one of the threads brought his home on Sat. & sold it on Monday with 100 miles on it. I thought I would replace the KLX with a WR when I first saw it until I read that it was just as much of a pig as the KLX, not overly impressive on the throttle & oh yeah...$1,000.00 more. Sorry Yahmmi, but I already have underwhelming in the garage for a work commuter. I don't need to take it in the rear for another $1,000.00 for more underwhelming. Already got something that is underpowered & over weight. It's like going from a green Escort to a blue escort with cruise control. Make this pig a 450 & I'll pay the 450 price.

I'll have to say if the power feels anything like the 07' wr250 does then I can't imagine how underpowered the 08' would feel at 275lbs!  I am 6'3", 200lbs and the 07' wr250 essentially felt like I was just "too big" for it.  Suspension bottomed and the power just wasn't there.  I'm with the others... make it a 450 and I might be interested.

I was always told that 175lbs was about the limit (for optimal fun factor) for my 125, and since a 125 two stroke is roughly equal to a 250 four stroke, i'm not sure why you fat bastards are ragging on it... it's meant for vertically/weight challenged people such as myself.   :prof:

I understand that you bigger fellas need a bigger bike to have the same experience, but it's not a short coming of the 250 that it can't carry your weight... it wasn't designed to.

Exactly! It's not that there is something overly wrong with the bike. It's just not a big boy's bike & is drastically priced out of its class.

how is this?
its a lot less then a yz or wr 250!
not to mention its fuel injected, has a computer, and a shit load of censors and what not that dont you think would up the price!

+1.  The WRR also has a signifigantly better suspension, better built quality, heavier duty components and much longer maintenance intervals. Although I wish it were about $500 cheaper the $1,000 price difference is easily justified.

Well to comparing 125 two stroke to a 250 four stroke as equals will define you as most certainly a rocket scientist. Do your homework before you make statements like that. The closest place that they will ever be equal will be on the mx track. The WR250r or X is intended for the street also. Lets see you run your "fatness" around on your 125 two stroke on the street in the city big fellow.  Till then work on your real challenge and its not your weight.
