Front rim question...

I'm looking for a front rim for my xr600r 1995. I have been offered one form a 1985 xr250, I wont be using the hub or anything just the rim itself laced to my hub. This should work right? My brother in law has a rim from a yz490 on his xr650 and that aint even close.

As long as the rim has the same number of holes as your hub, you should be good.
