I hear that you can get real good deals in canada. Just do a search for canada dealers.

check out

www.motorcycledepot.ca

It is a Canadian export dealer that ships through out the US, Europe and Aus. The Canadian version of the bike doesn't have all the restriction that the US models have.
My only suggestion when you get would be to put on a better pipe.
Try a Thunder Alley pipe. They freakin' scream and I guarantee it will add at least 3hp at around 4000rpm. I have one on my '00yz426f and dyno it after. I jumped 5hp just with the pipe. No [censored]! I couldn't believe it. Makes the bike a little harder to hang on too, but it is obviously faster.
the website is:

www.thunder-alley.net

Hope this helps dude.

I would sugguest Bardwell Yamaha in Brookhaven, MS. You can find them on Yamaha's website. They have killer deals and will ship the bike to you.

Tell them Kim sent ya' :)

I recieved mine YESTERDAY from a dealer in BC Canada. Harbour City Motorsports. They have a web site. Dealt with the general manager Lon Towstego. Shipped price to SoCal was $8100 canadian which for me was about $5150 USD. He promised me his first and I got it! I am VERY pleased with the way Lon dealt with me. Put it together last night. Gonna ride tommorrow with my son to break it in.

I got my 03 yz250F for $5525.00 out the door at Lemonds in Fairfield, IL. That's tax, setup, dock fee, everything. Guess I'll check Canada next time.

$8100.00 Canadian which was exactly $5163.00 the day they sent the bike. And yes that did count the shipping and brokerage fee. Today $8100.00 would be $5162.52. During my wait the price could have been as low as $5104, and went up to $5220. depending on the exchange rate that day.

Hope that helps. Give Lon a call. I was completely impressed since I was running on faith on this one. Gotta go, going right now with my son (on his KX100) to go break this thing in.

Bhunt- Do you have a phone number for these guys? I would appreciate it... How long did it take for you to get it after you ordered it? A friend of mine yesterday told me they could put as much as a 3 month wait before releasing it once it gets into the states because of customs, heard anything about this anyone??? Thanks again..... :)

I wouldn't go around looking for the best price. If you wait too long you won't even be able to find one. I have had a deposit on mine for like 3 months. :)

I just came back from 2 different local (Canadian) dealers. The MSRP for the YZ250F is $7499 CDN if that helps in your negotiation.

I will try to answer EVERYONE with this LONG post!
Go to http://www.harbourcitymotorsport.com/. that will have contact info on it. Like I said, I dealt exlusively with the General Manager Lon Towstego. As I said earlier, the list price is $7499.00 CAD (Canadian) + Freight (to them), and other assorted fees the dealers like to add on. He sold it to me for $7400.00 + $700.00 for freight (to ME) and brokerage fee. $8100.00 total which is approx $5160.00 USD TOTAL PRICE. The $700 shipping was about $450.00 USD which included the $100.00 they paid to UPS-CSC which is a UPS owned brokerage. He's the guy who gets it through customs so there won't be the delays. I had to send a power of attorney to the brokerage firm to deal with customs (which is what you do when you buy a bike local for them to deal on your behalf with DMV). I faxed it to him Wednesday night late Oct. 16th. I confirmed with Lon at Harbour City that they shipped the bike out on the 17th. I received it in the crate EXACTLY one week later on Thursday October 24th! My buddy and I set it up Thursday night. This means unbolting it from the crate, putting on the front wheel, the front fender, the handlebar and handlebar controls. All lubricators where present in abundence, including a full oil tank. We also put on the Pro-Moto Billet kickstand, and spark arrester, and the CRD frame guards. I took it out to a riding place in Gorman today called Hunrgy Valley. GREAT bike.
