Ok,so I like my 426 ,but I'm tired of it throwing me around,so I put a deposit down on an 03-250f without riding one(stupid?) I hope not.Anyway here it is almost November and still no bike. The way I understood it was Yamaha ran the production line as long as is took to produce the entire years supply of the same model. Why the ration to dealers when the bikes are sold? Japanese thinking I suppose?
Yamaha ....I'm here in Florida!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhh.

or maybe a HUGE backlog on the west coast because of long shoreman strike?
or a intentional slow down in work?
nah, couldn't be either of those.
yep, sometimes the distribution of bikes sees out of whack!

i just sold my 02 426 that i bought new in may to buy or sould i say wait on a 03 250f. i rode a 03 and they are sick. the power is less of course but the light weight and handling in my book is worth it. i have called over 20 shops in California noone has any and this is what they all say about the release. 1 bike in september, 2 in october and november is the release for them. ask your local shop how many they are getting in november, mine says they are getting 13 and i am #8 on the waiting list. they said them may get some later this week, i hope.

Got mine in a week, but then again it is my 4th bike in a years time from the same dealer. I imagine it may have infuenced their "ability to aquire an 03" for me.

Yeah, I was down in Long Beach and there's still a butt load of ships just parked off the coast. I'm sure a couple of them have bikes in there somewhere.

Yall on the West coast are lucky! So many bikes and places to get them! When I was looking for my '02 in Birmingham, Al (the biggest city in the state), only about 10 bikes came to the ENTIRE city, for the year! My brother and I got the first (and only) two that our dealership was getting. The first one came in October, but the second one didn't come until late November. The dealership didn't get another 250F all year! Seems to me that somebody needs to explain supply and demand to the Japanese... Sure, it's great to sell out every year, but if you can make more, why not? I just don't understand this bike-rationing...

There are no bikes on those ships because they
are not on the east coast after that first shipment
of 2 bikes to each dealer! Give me a KTM

Last year the closest Yamaha dealer asked Yamaha for 13 250F's and they got 3, all year. This year I have to wait till January(if i'm lucky) for mine in canada.

My local dealer still has one in the crate. I'm in South Louisiana YZThump. Maybe it will be worth it to take a ride(if you live close enough) or call. Cycle World of Houma(985)876-6104. Speak to Tim.
