I know there are some pople out there using bike shoes. There are several brands now too. Or at least copies of the original ATK Bike shoe. What brands are out there and which work best? What are the going rates?

I'd like to get 1 or 2 to mount on a removable board or something to ease loading and unloading. What set up is working for you? What improvements would you make?

Thanks

The best thing is you will never be looking for tie downs again!!!!!!! Best money you can spend in regards to hauling your ride. I put 3 of the original AMP ?/ATK? bike shoes in my box trailer. About $80.00 each. No compressed fork springs, no blocks of wood or plastic thingy's between the fender and tire. Just roll it in and cinch the lever down. I see some look a likes all over ebay for about $50.00 each. They get my approval.

I looked at EBay and didn't see any that cheap. What are you using for the search name? I did find some Mini bike ones that cheap, but not full sized.

What do you do to keep the rear from bouncing around? I'm sure they aren't as prone to bouncing in the rear without the forward pull of tiedown straps.

Thanks

Send a message to the people with the mini bike shoes. I think they have the full size ones also. Without the front suspension being compressed the bike is fully weighted and the rear end will stay put. I have rarely seen the rear of my bikes move hardly any at all. Before, with the tie down method I had small hooks on my trailer and would secure the rears with bungie cords. Not any more!

I've had mine for over 10 years now, they work great! I also secure the side movement of the bike with tie-downs but no pressure on the forks. I think that you should stop the side to side motion! ! It's alot of pressure on your wheel when it's clamped in there and rocking from side to side!
