Rinaldi cdi mapping

Recommended Posts

Hello, don't know if anybody can help but i have a gp spec 2007 RINALDI YZF 450. It seems that the mapping has gone off in the CDI unit. I am searching for the cable and the software that goes with the unit before i splash out for a new unit which are very expensive.

What do you mean its "gone off"? Either it runs the bike or it doesnt. I have re-mapped sportbike ECU's and once you load a map...its in there. Its what the bike runs on. Are you saying the bike will not run now? You can check Rinaldi's web site.

The cdi will still run the bike but it will not run to a standard spec it seems as though it is either flooding or starving the bike of petrol.

I have the original cdi and with this on it runs as standard without any other modifications.

i have spoke to several race mechanics and they say that the mapping has "gone off" this is new to me as i thought once it was in there that was it. i am looking for the software and the cable to re-map the cdi unit to test it before i buy a new one.

the only way it can "go off " is sometimes cdi's like vortex etc have multiple maps, and also a "base" map. which is a default map just to get a bike running before being mapped on a dyno , you can only access this via a laptop and software.

What kind of cdi is it, or does it look like a stock cdi with rinaldi sticker on? - if it is im afraid your only choice is to contact rinaldi direct.

:applause:
