Read on "Dirt Rider" that DubachRacing (Dr. D) will be putting together an e-start kit for the 03 YZFs and a small battery based on the 03 WRs' gears. I bet he'll put together the auto-decomp kit for the older models too now that we've given him this idea...

IMHO it is competely unneccesary for the 03. My bike starts in one or two kicks hot or cold. It starts as easy as my 125 did.

Our HS series has straddle the front wheel facing backwards, dead engine starts. The guys with estart KTM MXCs always get the holeshot. They put it in gear and place a piece of wood in the clutch lever so that it stays almost fully pulled in. The bike is running before their butts are on the seat, they pull in the clutch all the way, the wood falls out, and they are gone. That is the only real reason I could see placing the additional weight on a YZ.
Personally I would rather have an autoclutch than estart in nasty terrain.
