All sexual humor aside, I'm looking for some new tires to stick on my stock '04 XRL rims. I use the bike almost totally for street use (unfortunately), so I am mainly concerned with having something long lasting with a mostly street oriented tread pattern. If it could handle an occasional fire road blast, that would be even better. Thanks for the input!

I have the Pirelli Scorpion A/T 90 and like them a lot. Great on the road and decent on fire roads. Motorcycle superstore seems to have the best prices.

thats what i was gona suggest, my dad has a set on his Africa Twin and they are great road grip, and you can still travel pritty quick on dirt roads:thumbsup:

I've had the Pirelli Scorpion on mine for about 2mo. Great road tread, no vibration, more like an 80% highway, 20% off road tire. I do like em more aggressive for anything more than the occasional dirt road though.

I was looking at a set of the Pirelli Scorpion MT 90's for my XR 650 L. What size rear are you guys running? I see they have a 140 and also a 150 but I don't know if the 150 will fit. I'm running a 140 Pirelli knobby now with no clearance problems. Any help?

i got about 100 miles on my MT90's. overall im happy with them, but theres small chunks that have been peeling of the rear tire? i'm not sure if this is normal wear for these tires.

Thanks Dave. I'm going to go with a 140 unless I hear someone say different. I'd really like to run the 150 and I'm hoping someone else will have tried it first. I'll let you guys know how I make out. I'll post some pics when I get them mounted.

here's some pics of the 140's mounted... if its an L, you may have to remove the inner chain guard bracket to fit the 150, and slide the tire back a bit.

If you're doing most of your riding on the road, why would you run knobs?

Distanzias rock. They can hang off road (fire roads and grass) and stick damn near as good as my buddies 17s on the slab. AND you can get them from the TT store.?

I'm still sold on my Mefo Explorer's. They handle great and our wearing nicely. The majority of my riding is pavement. Only problem is they've been hard to find and are pricey.
