650R european exhaust system ?'s

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how well the euro systems are (power)? Akro, Doma, Remus, Arrow etc? Ive done a few searches and they all seem like very well built systems. Anyone running one? How's the power compared to PC, FMF, xr's only etc. I would really like to talk to someone that has ran the Remus twin pipe twin can system. thanks..

Ive heard a couple guys say the PC T4 pipe is one of the best performing, but also loud. I would also like to hear some reports of pipe performance.

Most of the European aftermarket pipe manufacturers are very very good.

What about power? Thats what it really boils down to. weskc35k, what are you running??

Ive read and was told that the Doma system made the most power hands down, but finding one in the states is close to none.

Don't think it really matters with this bike. put one on that you like and got a good deal on.

I ran a big gun, white brothers megaphone and my current Jardine full system.

big gun was good but a crash took care of that

the mega was loud and excellent still have it as back up but too loud.

Jardine is great with good sound. for the money... worth it.

If you want the megaphone. I'll send it to you for shipping costs (and the box) it's in good shape and has been ceramic coated.

.

That is, if you don't care about fine tuning, throttle response, placement of power curve, torque curve, or linearity of power. Heck, why not just run straight pipes!

If you just 'honk' on the throttle, then the differences are small. If you meter out your power for maximum effect, then the differences are huge.

I have to agree, I think that there is some junk systems out there. I'm cheep but if its a couple of hundo more for a system that actaully makes power I'll spend the money. Is the PC system the T4 or Ti4??

I have ran both the latest version of the T4 as well as its predasesor. The latest T4 has the AMA mandated 1 5/8" slencer core and no reverse megaphone, my thoughts are that this pipe would work well on a stock or uncorcked bike but does NOT work on bikes with motor mods. The previous T4 with 2" silencer core and reverse megaphone works well on pretty much all of the R's modified or not and works well with strong and smooth power thruoghout. Still it is my opinion that the Moriwaki and Akrapovic will still make more power for us with modified motors, If I could get one I would!

I have an EVO system on my 650R -Swiss made-developed by Monnier .Therefore, I had CRD (french) headers in combo with a Leo VInce X3 (italian) open can. Very good combo, the EVO system is a little weaker on lowend but stronger in mid and overrev. Akrapovic systems are good for low and mid. Doma (Belgium) and the full Leo Vince X3 systems (with modular db killers) are all good performers.

I know that there are dozens of variables that would have to be taken into account, but has anyone done a side by side comparison of the various pipes on a dyno?

If you used the same bike for back to back runs comparing the various systems with only jetting changes then I'd think you'd have a valid comparison, right? Any of the pipe makers confident enough in their product to sponsor that kind of test? Have any of the magazines ever done something similar?

My personal seat-of-the-pants dyno isn't calibrated very well so it is hard to use it as a guide.

This is the kind of info that is nice to know BEFORE you crap out 5 to 600 bones..

Does PC make a "race only" system that has the two inch core?? Or are they all 1 5/8 core? This statement (above) leads me back to the question on euro (outside of the states) systems. will they make more power due to the lighter regulations??

PC has no race ready system and they will tell you that the new system is "tuned" for your bike. I would say it was tuned great from idle to about 3000rpm, just will not run modified bikes.

You may be able to find a used sytem online, the one you really want is the Honda of America PC system.

I actually found a pretty decent deal on a full Remus Ti twin pipe twin can system but dont know much about them. I'm running the stage 2 cam opened side panel and the JE 11:1 piston now.
