XR600R Jetting

I recently purchased a 97 XR600R. It came from Oregon (about 1000 feet) to Colorado (5000 feet).
I need to re-jet.
The bike has some light head work and a Wiseco HC piston, a stock exhaust, but no baffle.
Most of the riding I will do is at this elevation and higher.

Any recommendations on the jets/settings to start tuning?
I've read that an Edelbrock carb is the bomb on XRs. Is there one available for my bike? I haven't found one yet. Worth the $$? I got a great deal on the bike, and would be ok with spending the dough if there is a really worthwhile improvement.

Thanks for any input

Brian
