Coeshow said No-go....06 150 BBK.

Recommended Posts

OK, since Coe said he didn't have a kit for the 06, I was thinking of the EO kit with the cam and carb. Seems a bit $$ though at around $1k and no labor.

Is there a better alternative as far as HP goes? If I am gonna do it, I might as well spend the loot and do it right, ya know. Does anyone know if there is a kit to run on race gas? Max HP is what I was looking for. EO only has a pump gas kit as far as I can tell.

If you have the money and really want massive racing horsepower I would get the 225cc big bore kit, a camshaft, the 28mm carburetor, an exhaust system(I would take the BBR D-section, the Pro Circuit pipe or the Big gun exhaust one), and a porting for more aggressive power a lighter flywheel with the complete ignition system(Tokyo mods offer this).

The total price would be arround 2500$ but you would have one of the fastest CRF150F!

But you will never be fast if you don't have the suspension to go fast!

EO's 225 kit is the only option you have with the 06' E-start motor. Keep in mind, EO's kit does not come with a camshaft.

I have raced the 225 motor with 28mm carb. on one of my buddies bike. IMO, the power was OK with just the big bore kit and carb. (The people who have this kit, say its great, but i have to disagree)

My buddy then had Crower design a camshaft for his bike, then the bike came alive! If you want a high performance camshaft, i believe Crower is the only manufacture making them for the 06' E-start models.

Frank (EO) said last year that he was having a camshaft made, but i havn't heard any news on that as of yet?

Like i said, the EO 225 kit is all you have available for your application.

Give the kit a go, most people who own the kit, love it!

I was expecting to feel a larger increase in power. But thats just me and like i said, the camshaft brought it to life!

did you try the blue ones?

well, then your left with

A.) spending boatloads on the 150F

B.)upgrading to say a 150R?

C.)staying with what your with

not every one likes yamahas. BTW the 150f doesnt cost that much. two strokes are the ones that cost a boatload.

wait never mind the most expensive YZ250F is $50 cheaper than the YZ250 and the cheapest YZ250F is $100 cheaper. still 2 strokes cost more.

your comparing apples to oranges here..

a 250 2-stroke runs in the same class as a 450 4-strk.

a 125 2-stroke runs with the 250 4-strokes.

so actually

they are cheaper.

The EO 225 kit with the carb, and a little porting work may be enough for your wife and is just fun to ride. You can always add the cam later if you need more power.

Taking a bit off the flywheel is also good for some quicker response.

Best of all it runs on pump gas and will last a long time.
