I Finally tried YZ timing

Well I finally timed my 02 wr426 to yz specs. And WOW what a difference. It is much snappier now with less engine braking, feels more 2 strokish. I like it! The biggest difference for me was the less engine braking, I can coast much easier now without having to constantly throttle it. I haven't tried it on any gnarly single track yet, so I'm not sure if it will be good for that type of riding, but for faster open trails it absolutely rips!

You'll like it even more with an 03-05 YZF AUtodecomp cam!

This might sound stupid but is a YZ type muffler needed to change to the YZ exhaust cam or can the stock 05+ WR muffler(baffle out) stay?

The muffler has nothing to do with the exhaust cam as far as fittment goes. However, the yz or aftermarket exhaust will help it perform better with either cam installed.

Did you think the muffler had something to do with the cam FITTING? I wanted to know if the muffler would let enough air out for the motor to run right. I guess I should have worded it better. I had a 300ex once that wouldn't run right with the stock pipe even with the baffle out with the cam I had in it.

Yeah I'm sorry, I wasn't exactly sure what you meant. And no I do not think that mufflers have anything to do with the cam fitting, I just thought that you might.
