Sounds too lean. A rejet is in order.

so if I go from a #175 main to a #178 and from 65 to a 68s it should do some work?

What's the temperature and altitude? Airboxmod /aftermarket airfilter?

Last year,I mounted a complete Akra line on a XR650R and did the airbox mod with Twin Air free-flow airfilterset, I had the best power with a 70 S and a 188 main (sea level , 15° C),with just the slip-on a 68S and a 180/182 will do I think (sea level).

It should help but may need more fiddling.
Putting in the pilot is the start you then need to find out the setting on the fuel screw.
start at about 2 turns out.
A hard running 4 stroke should burble on decel not try and explode

I am getting some popping on decel also... can you tell me the honda part number of those jets? I could only find the 68s and the 175.
By the way, is there any HRC needle kit? If so, can anyone tell me the part number.

Thanks for the info

Regards

A small amount of popping or a small burble is good.
Screw your pilot screw out a little if it's popping too much.

I think -in Europe -the "HRC" needle is already in the 650R when you buy it..
For parts/part n°/parts fiches /promo's look @ www.bike-parts.fr

Dallara XR are jected for the "corked exhaust", if you install a "open" exhaust you better reject it.
I think people in Italy installed a 175 or 178.
Check on www.xr-italia.com, you may register and ask question.
