The race gas works the same in either (you knew that). Likewise, the stock air filters are a little more restrictive than aftermarket units, so that's the same, too. The pipe won't help the Honda as much as the YZF because the Honda pipe doesn't suck as bad as the '08 YZF does.

Dropping the gearing won't improve acceleration versus another bike, or a stopwatch, and it certainly cuts off top speed. But it goes through the shorter gears faster, so it feels better.

The Powerbowl will do nothing to increase peak output since it doesn't modify any part of the fuel system that feeds into the main circuit underway. Not even they claim that.

But that was your point, more or less, right?

I wanted to get a fmf but I have a dr.d sponsorship. does anyone know what bend the protaper bars are? I been using Henry/Reed for four years now and just curious about what's on this bike. thanks.

According to protaper the yz-high is the closest bend. I also have been running the henry/reed bend but am thinking about the windham bend as I'm 6' and it doesn't have as much sweep as the henry bend. Might be a little more comfortable.

They are lower than the Henry's, I can tell you that.

Its a special OEM bend for the 08's. You can only get that bend by ordering the stock part from the dealer.....which sucks because they are ridiculously priced and i like the new bend. After i bent my stock 08 bars i threw on the Henry/Reeds.

can't comment on the race gas, but a Dr.D pipe on a Honda provides marginal improvement compared to a YZ. It's GREAT on a YZ and practically a must have.

On my Honda, all it really did was quiet it down. The Honda has a midrange that is so powerful, the reason for a pipe was to tame it and spread it out the power delivery - you know, kinda like a YZ. :applause:

Don't tell anyone, but I'm running the stock Pro-Taper bars from my 06 YZ on my CRF now. I like the feel.:cool::applause:

Not a fan of Renthals...Which all the CRF's seem to run.
