I don't know about the rest of you, but does Acerbis make anything thats actually not a piece of crap???

I have tried:

1. Their handguards ... junk compared to competitors
2. Disc brake locks - fall apart on their own
3. Plastics ... much inferior to stock
4. Fork braces - cheaply made and poorly engineered
5. Muffler plug - overpriced and fall out very easily.

So what do they manufacture thats actually any good??? I have not been impressed with ANYTHING:excuseme:

I have one of their older chest protectors it has held up really good but the stickers on it suck, they all have come off. Yes you are right about the plastic, they do royally suck.

Compare the metal and mounting to the Cycra version, and you will see a VERY SIGNIFICANT difference in quality. The Acerbis uses cheap white metal, while the Cycra uses much higher strength aluminum.

The only thing Acerbis has going for them, IMO, is marketing and looks of some products. The actualy quality of many of them is appaling!

+1, Their older chest protectors were awesome, with the extra side protection. Not much experiance with anything else.

I have to admit the first thing I have bought from Acerbis is their Spyder Evolution disc guard. I love it, but had to dril out one of the holes on it to fit perfectly. Before I drilled, I put it on and the disc rubbed, because it was bound up. Ovaled out one of the holes and it was perfect. But overall quality is good on this product.

I have their Rally Pro handguards and they have held up very well to the wrecks I have had and trees they have bounced off without breaking or bending. The boy has the Minicross Rally hanguards on his CRF70 which are all plastic and I've been impressed with the abuse he has put them through and they haven't snapped. I guess I must have lower expectations?

Wore the Acerbis Zoom CP for years, still one of the most protective CP made. Also multiple sets of their handguards on multiple bikes. Some of their plastic.

Never a problem with any of it.

Just throwing it out there, how exactly do you pronounce acerbis? A guy at a local shop actually made fun of my dad for saying A-Ker-bis. I guess it's "cherbi"? Either way, not a fan of their products at all. I hate how they sell the hardware separate than their products, which cost more than the hand guards themselves.

I have a Acerbis beer coozie that I got for free at Glen Helen about 6 years ago. Still keeps the hand from freezing on the ice cold beers!

I give them full credit for sponsoring the sport, etc.

Its just disappointing (for me anyway) when I have the choice of 2 products, and I choose the Acerbis one because I am familiar with the name, only to turn around and feel ripped off when I see the quality of the product (vs other ones).

I ran their handguards all last year, and was amazed at the quality difference between a set of Cycra's I have now (although have to admit the Acerbis ones certainly "LOOK" better than the goofy big plastic deflector the Cycras come with).

And the muffler plugs ... they charge twice as much for a product that is half as effective as the cheaper ones ... which stay in your exhaust as well.

I guess I just want to be shown a product that they are "class leading"in ... or in other words, a product that justifies the added cost. I just don't see any ??:excuseme: :excuseme:

"High quality" is not the first thing that pops into my head when I think of Acerbis...

MXJunky had a pair of the fancy Acerbis aluminum handguards with the plastic brush thingys. The first time MXJunkys front tire deflected off of a wet root and the handguards hit some hardpack dirt, the aluminum twisted like a Rold Gold pretzel. That was $135 down the drain.

I have had some experience with their plastic.....

It BREAKS!! Not hard crashes, but simple, slow tip overs

F that douche. There is a thread about pronuciation of goofy MX words. I say it "a sear bees"... but I didn't read the thread either :bonk: .

Yeah, my buddy's chest protector was a Zoom III model, (I think).

Their plastics have been fine for me, but the hand guards are soft. When you fall over after stopping (SLS), you shouldn't bend a handguard to the point where you can't let out the clutch.

And good luck if it is the other side, without any tools on the trail, and have to ride a bike for a while with the front brake on to get back to the truck...
