I just got a new (to me) bike. It's an RMZ 450 06' model. I t has the excel rims and my rear wheel is missing a spoke. Will this be a problem??? There is no nipple on the rim just a hole. Do i need to put a spoke on it before I ride it or is it OK to ride with out? thanks,

Will

Ride w/o...unless your hitting Lorocco's Leap or something, one spoke won't make a big difference. :)

That happend to me and it was wrapped around the hub. Just make sure all the others are tight.

A big cause of broken spokes is over torquing the nipples. Don't over do it.

Yeah, there is a hole in the rim and a empty hole in the hub. I just didn't want junk to get stuck in the rim or something.....

Ride without for now, next time you have to pull the rubber for a flat or to replace, put a spoke back in.

Verify that the hole should be there before doing anything. If you are missing a spoke and you decide to ride, the you risk the chance of the rim becoming bent or warped. If you are just breaking the bike in a riding easily, and all of you other spokes are tighten to spec. then you should be OK............... I hope.

Nice purchcase...
