hey, my mate thinks that if i bought a 2 stroke 250 that i have to rebuild the engine in a couple of months we are not racing we just ride around the the bush, Is he right?:bonk:

Not if it is properly jetted, and the oil/fuel is properly mixed.

Normal trail riding, you'd probably get at least 2 seasons out of it (depending).

If you rode the bike night and day, every day, sure. For typical use, nope.

how long would it last just say if we ride like a hour every day

One hour, every day... would still last a couple seasons, depending on how you're riding it. I never really track my hours on bikes, guestimate mileage... ride (hopefully) a hundred miles a month on my last bike and did a piston swap (which is easy BTW) once a year... but... it was an 85 YZ which seemed to go through them fast. Have been riding my KTM since Feb, probably put 12-1500 miles on it and haven't thought about doing one yet.
