I have a 2001 KTM 250exc, and every stand i have tried will only get 1 wheel off the ground, do yall have this same problem?? my brothers Husky TE250 has no problem. it would be nice to have both wheels off the ground.

Any Suggestions??? Make My Own???

Sounds like you may need to center it on the stand more. My stand from "Universal" gives my 250f plenty of clearance with both wheels, but if I am too far foward on the stand the front tire will hit the ground and vise vera with the rear.

My KTM also has one wheel or the other on the ground. I have an MSR, basic aluminum stand. Doesn't really bother me too much, I just move the bike back and forth depending on where I'm wrenching at. I actually like it, now that I think about it... it's a little more stable that way (I've got little ones).

If you want it higher... they make taller stands, or extend the legs or put another plate on top.

If it needs to be taller, screw or use some carrige/elevator bolts to attach a piece of plywood(with well sanded edges)to the top of the stand.

Yes, make a nice platform and bolt to the top of the stand.

Remember the bike will loose stability when both wheels are off the ground.

I have the MSR racing stand (lift stand) and it is adjustable. I have it on the second to last hole and it lifts one wheel of my 2005 200exc (same clearance as your 250). If I went up a notch, I would probably lift both wheels but the bike would be VERY unstable. If I want both off the ground, I use a stand with a much wider base and add a cut of 2x6 under the bike.

I've had one fall over in the middle of the night...now, I rarely prefer the bike to have both wheels off the ground.
