I have used these plates on my CRF250 because they look much better than the original one. But, every time I use them, the part that zip-ties to the fork tubes scratches the anodizing off of the fork tube.

What are you guys doing to stop the plate from trapping sand and rubbing the finish of of the forks? It really makes the forks look bad when I take the plate off.

I was thinking about putting velcro or something on the number plate to make it softer. Anybody have any remedies?

put clear fork protector then mount velcro. Should work great! Really all you need to do is put on clear fork protector.

Maybe just a piece of clear packing tape would do it? That's what I do on my MTBs to prevent cables from rubbing the frame.

Thanks for the replies.

I have some thick MX-TECH decals on the forks, and the plastic on the stadium plate just wore through fairly quickly. Putting the velcro on in addition to that would probably work, what do you think?
