HEL#@#@ NO thats considered low for a bike thats 15 years old. As for the price i think you could get a few hundred less. I got my 03 with 9k for 2300. same bike as they didnt make but very small minor changes to color pretty much, but id think 2k if it runs great

That's REALLY low for a bike that old! I've put over 6,000 on mine since last April!:banghead:

be careful. it takes about 2 seconds to disable the odometer on these bikes, so that number is not golden. You should be able to get an idea of how accurate it is by looking at the rest of the bike or a maintenance log - point being, most people wouldn't go through the effort of making a fraudulent maintenance log.

Price is very high for a L that old. Mileage notwithstanding. That bike brand new in like 2005 was only selling out the door for about 600 more than that! I'd offer $2000.00 for it if it is PERFECT. But if it is not PERFECT, offer less, say about $1600.00~1800.00. Hell, brand new final year XR650R's were only selling for about $3900.00 weren't they?

Thanks for your comments guys. I found an new '08 for $5,375.

I didn't think this price was too bad.

I always like the security of buying new.

Does anyone know where I could get one for less?

Thanks,

Deck

Not in Nebraska. But I have seen them out the door in the mid 4K range, around 4800.00 OTD at a lot of dealers who have a hard time selling them because of low interest because of location. Go online and see where they may be available. Id google

new Honda XR650L for sale.

My '93 650L that I purchased about 2 months ago also had 7500 miles on it. However, I only paid $1600 for it. It was bone stock, except richer jetting. Its kinda funny, I sold my 2004 KLR250 for $2300, then I got the '93 XR650L for $1600 and the technology is still newer on the XR.:banghead:

I paid a lot for my 94 with 4000 miles on it, 3000 bucks, but I think it's far nicer then any of the red ones.

I could have waited to find another white one but this one is in exceptional shape and since it's the same bike as any other newer XRL but even nicer, I didn't mind paying that at all.

I agree, those paint schemes are much better looking than the red pigs.

I found a 97' 650l with 1750 miles for $1500 in December. Sure it needed some maintenance like oil change, chain, de smog, daves mods and other minor things, but that is half the fun is freshening them up. The engine is tight though so that makes me happy. Good Luck with your xr hunt!

7500 miles is nothing for an xrl. It's definitely nice to have something with low miles but it is most important that it was maintained properly (no matter how many miles it has). My 2001 650l has over 20000 miles on it and only one rebuild. I've read that XRL's will usually live longer than their owners, so don't worry too much about mileage. Take your time and buy something you really like :banghead:

That's not such a bad deal, it's amazing how the price varies on these though, some pay a lot more, some a lot less for the same comparible machine, shape/milage wise that is.

Found a 1997 XRL w/ 5800 original miles, original everything - tires and all - never been off road.
$1800.

It's now at 11,000 miles, 'Tarded w/ 17" Diablo tires, black Excel rims, Pro-Circuit pipe, Jetted, UNI filter, Superbike bars...
This silly thing likes to eat sportbikes in the twisties - love it! In addition, it easily goes under the police radar bein' a dirtbike an all :banghead:
Been riding since '73, not the fastest, rarest, or trickest - but the funnest!
