should the cam chain tensioner slide (the black plastic one inside the motor) have a little slack side to side?

should the cam chain tensioner slide (the black plastic one inside the motor) have a little slack side to side?


the guide does have a little play as you stated. mine did when i had it apart for the hotcam.
