Acerbis for XRL

Recommended Posts

Obviously, mounting one of these isn't going to overheat your engine but over time, is it possible that the crouding of the engine by the tank could be a bad thing? I'm interested in one because of the dual-petcocks do they allow for full drainage with out tipping the bike over? Does it use any stock petcock parts?

i dont know about the petcocks, but the design of the tank is not going to affect the operating temp. much.

Having JUST installed one on my '93 XRL, the 5.8gal tank comes with 2 complete petcocks. The tank mounts up quite sturdy and is made of a really thick plastic. The only downside to using it is when you are also using aftermarket barkbusters. The clamps that hold the barkbusters on will gouge a hole in the tank if you turn to full lock. I personally ground down the clamps to a very rounded, smooth profile so they "hit" the tank and not "gouge" it.
