Float adjusment hight on Edelbrock Quicksilver??

Recommended Posts

Hi over there. Can any of you guys tell me the measure for my Xr 650r -00 i have just mounted this carb on my pig and i have a litle problem trying to make it run smoothly. I suspect that the bike leans out on higher rpms. It simply does not run at all, throttle wide open. Before i "click" the needle i want to be shore that the float bowl is not sucked dry and that the float hight is right. My Edelbrock Quicksilver is most certain one of lets say,,, 10 in Sweden :banghead: . So information is hard to come by. I could not find it in my papers or at the Edelbrock site either. And they have not retuned my E-mails that i send a few mounths ago.

I´m sorry for my bad English i´m not writing in this language very often and in tecnical terms it´s even harder.

Best regards from: Christer in Sweden

#E19 i think the elevation I´m not sure of yet have to check that. I bought the carb as a used part almost new though. The set up on my Xr is Yoshimura complete exhaust and twinair filter. It runs pretty well except from the hi-rev problem. I tested the bike against an Crf450 from about 20mph to 100mph an won that race by at least 20 meters.

I also have a bigbore kit 102,4mm 11:1 a restored and ported cylinderhead inkl hotcam stage 2 in my garage waiting to by mounted . That would do the trick.

Btw have you seen the Swedish Xr 650 Turbo with 100bhp on the wheel??

Do you have the quicksilver or the Edel Pumper carb? I assume they are similar. anyways I found a document for the pumper carbs http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/misc/tech_center/install/off-road_carbs/XR650_install.pdf . this is current for the newer style pumper carbs, but it should give you a base to start from for yours.
