Anyone ride at Reiter after the floods and wind?

How was it if you did?

I would imagine there is snow up top now.

Thanks, Roscoe

Euro-snobs. I was up there last weekend and it was in pretty good shape but we didn't go up to the very highest elevations that would have got more wind.

I heard snow this week but it doesn't sound like very much.

LOL. Here's the gist of it:

"I was there Sunday and Monday conditions were good. Some frost in the lower sections. I cleared a few trees but didn't find that many across the trails."

I thought the trails were absolutely epic! The sometimes tank deep Reiter ruts were no where to be found (at least on the trails that we rode), the dirt had the perfect tackiness and the tree roots were slightly frosted, but that just made it more fun! I didn't see any downed trees (except for the section of bushwacking we did). I want to ride there really bad again on Sunday!

I was there last Saturday and I park at the first area and I have a loop that i go on that goes off the first switch back on the gravel road to the mines and comes back around up top then back down.

I had to move like 10 trees, they were mostly rotten so weren't to heavy and some I couldn't move, they were way to big, or to long.
I was exhausted from laying bike down and trying to move stuff. Most the trails I had been on had no new tracks but some had fresh trial tire marks. Had some then ice on puddles but wasn't to cold and not any real snow.
But I did get completely stuck once. I had to push my bike quite a few times and was toast before I even did my full loop and cut it short. I still had fun though. I couldn't see out of my goggle though because of all the sweet running down inside and I hate ridding with out.
I usually ride it back too but said screw It I'm going back to truck going home and drinking beer:thumbsup:

Thanks for all the input everyone, curious how it faired cause of all the devastation in Tahuya.

After this weekend we all should have a better idea how Capitol forest is.

The trails are being assessed this Sunday.
If you would like to help with the Damage Assessment email Tom at twest@click-network.com

He is probably Meeting at the Rock Candy staging area at 9:00AM but contact him first to make sure his plans haven't changed. He will be checking his email up until Sunday morning.

You don’t need to have anything beyond a dependable vehicle, hiking boots, and hopefully a cell phone to help out. He’ll hand out maps, and you'll split up.The assessments will be done by hiking in on the trails from road xings. Tom can use as much help as possible.:)

I rode Reiter sat. It was great! My 1st ride since breaking a few ribs.We stayed off the main trails, they where full of deep puddles, but the side trails where awesome, it was poring down rain down low and snowing up top. I was able to show off some wa single track to my Canadian buddy. we rode for 3 hrs without a stop, lots of trees to jump over, only a few places where we had to turn around.. Epic conditions for the tight stuff!!

There isn't an "official" trail map as it's not officially an ORV riding area...yet. However, there are some GPS maps floating around that people have made.
