Single track in California and single track in Oregon...not sure they're even the same species. Maybe orders apart.

I'm pretty sure what you would ride in Central Oregon would bring a smile to your pie hole.

I'll tell you what, you post some pics of your single track and I'll post some of mine (others will share too, I'm sure).

Bottom line: you will not be disappointed with what you can find on-line. Once you are here and meet up with a couple old dogs, they'll likely give you a tour of some stuff that's off the map.

Let me know!

Kent, there is some real good single track in Norcal similar to ours. Stonyford and Shasta areas come to mind.

To me Stony and Shasta are NOT real single track. A quad could ride most of the stuff there. I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains and have plenty of "stash". Don't get me wrong, I have fun at Stony and Shasta and I could have fun on most any trail. If possible, I'm looking for "motorcycle only" single track. Like Casino trail out of Stanley, Idaho. Or Newspaper Rock trail in Utah.

I'll be there 12-22 to 12-26.
Like I said above I like ALL trails. As far as posting pics... well, a lotta work. I'll see if I have the time. I would be willing to re-pay anyone back with an awesome ride in my area. I am bringing up a group of four.

I agree with you there. I lived in Redding for two years around the time Prince was going to party. No thank you to Chappie. Now Lassen looked great, but no riding areas at all.

Now where in the Sierras are you talking? Tahoe, Ridgecrest, Mammoth? Stanley is tucked right there in the STs. I've been there too, only on snowmachines. Primo stuff...definitely ST unlike typical Cali stuff. Kennedy Meadows had decent stuff back when I was a kid. Maybe you've been there?

You see the movie Tombstone? "I'll be your huckleberry." It depends where you live whether I can get re-paid, but no matter, I'll bet we can scrounge a couple doofs that will tour you in the Coast Range west of Salem or even in the Bend area. I know I have riding plans through the holidays...unless of course, a certain marsupial has other plans for me

While I completely agree there is more serious single track than Stony I was equating it to the single track I have rode in the Bend area which was the original question.

Yes, stony = china hat area = quad trails. Fun, but quad trails. I'm sure there's other cool stuff up there tho. My only experience is the china hat enduro last year, and I thought the trails up there would be awesome for mellow rides with the gf. She digs twisty fast trails that aren't too crazy with technical demands.

There is good singletrack in the Bend area.

But riding it takes either a willing trail guide, or a keen eye and lots of exploration.

My brother lives in Bend and says the weather permits mountain bike riding about 11 1/2 months a year - is that true of riding motorcycle too?

True for the most part. Periodic closures for fire restrictions and snow... both pretty much depend on the weather patterns. If they do close down riding in that area, there is always other places to ride, you'll just have to drive farther.

I'm near Tahoe. Got some great stuff locally. And great stuff a little ways away. I suspect my area is like Bend, mountains with desert close by. If you have a bike with a plate life is much better.:ride:

Sorry, try again. You could get a quad up that if you really tried.

Just kidding. Sweet looking trail.

Some of these guys have killer videos of the single track around here. More at Trask or the Burn, not so much out in Bend area. I'm sure it's there. I've been on a couple trails out there a quad wouldn't make it.

In the first photo I posted the trail gets worse near the top. The 3rd photo is true "stash". That's a "tread lightly" trail for sure.

Sleeper, looks like you've got some fun riding down your way.

Are you thinking of moving to the Bend area?

Oh, and just for the sake of posting nice singletrack pictures, this little slice of heaven is somewhere in Oregon.
