You mean the FMX650??

Cool bike, but too slow...

Wow! Not sure if that was sold in the UK, but assuming that there is an easy way to unleash some horsepower, it would sell like crazy. I suspect it would fit in with British horsepower restricted learner licence laws very well. Many big thumpers never see the dirt over here, getting the 17" rims instead.

Thinking on it, there was another 650L engined variant sold in the early/ mid nineties, just before the supermoto craze took off. It was a cheap, almost retro styled bike, of a similar nature to that weird Starck (?) styled Aprillia of that era. It had a round chromed headlamp, and I think, a 21" front wheel. BMW did it better with the Funduro.

2.) Cool bike, but too slow...

1.) That's the one. I couldn't remember what it was called or what countries got it.

2.) So is the 650L. ?

Call me crazy, but I think the FMX would be a great candidate for some 21/18" wheels and knobbies. ? The very existence of that bike is proof that Honda doesn't know what they're doing. They updated the 650L like we want here, then sell it everywhere else as a street-only supermoto.

For knobbies we had the xr650R (street legal) or the 600R (street legal too).

Now we have the 450X.

You are right..they dont know what they are doing? thats why most people prefer europeans sm´s to Honda FMX..Just people that love SM´s but commute a lot , got those FMX..But even so the XT600 was better and cheaper and now with the XT660X, the FMX has no chance..
