I have an 03 WR 450 and the kill switch went bad and I have been using the igniton switch to kill the motor. Lately I have noticed a "klunking" noise in the starter when I do this. Does anybody know if I am damaging the starter or any other gears by doing this?

Nope, you're not doing anything to the starter or gears, though you may have a different problem. Read the FAQ as the '03's had starter issues out of the box...SC
