Anyone been up to Rogers/Browns since the storm? Just curious how bad the trails are?

Thanks,

Mike

Cancel that, looks like I'm riding with the kiddo's. Should still get a look at some of the trails, but won't be moving at any rate of speed. May be at summit riding or at D.Mill.

The area is in pretty good shape. We did about 50 miles and only found a couple of trees blocking trails. It was a pleasant surprise.

I did keening to diamond mill yesterday. Not too bad, mainly just branches. There is more downfall on the keening side of the mountain. Mongos is blocked again though.

Got this in an email from ODF today:

Hi Everyone,

The first round of recreation trail storm assessments has been completed. Here's what we know as of Sunday, December 9th.

Reviews were completed on the following 4x4 trails - all of these trails are in good condition and remain open:

Archers Firebreak
Cedar Tree Trail
Powerline
Hogsback
Hood Raiser
Firebreak Five
7-Up

Please Note:

Can Opener - the soil around the recently replaced boulders on Can Opener is very soft and prone to erosion. Please help us protect the work that was done. Tread lightly when running that section and back down the trail if you start to notice that your wheels are spinning and mud is flying. We will be packing pit run into the soft spots when we have the chance.

University Firepower - the small section of the trail usually left open in the winter months is now closed. The puncheon culvert crossing is eroded to the point that it is impassable to all vehicle traffic.

Reviews were completed on the following MC / Quad trails - all of these trails are in good condition and remain open:

Rogers Camp Road
Firebreak One
Blockbuster
Clydes Trail
Elmers Trail
Island Trail
Log Jam
Morrels Maze
Benny Hill
Military Trail
Quarry Trail

Please Note:

Military Trail- there is currently one tree down on Military Trail.

There will be opportunities for folks to help us review trails in the coming weeks. If you would like to set up an assessment opportunity or are out and about on your own and come across any trail or road issues, please feel free to contact me with your updates. I will keep you posted on trail and road information as it comes my way.

Thanks again for your support!
